C.J. Varela started Divided Line Media in 2013 out of his growing passion for photography. Over the last 3 years he has photographed more than 150 weddings and thrives on the unique challenges that each and every wedding presents.
C.J. would describe his shooting style as fun and relaxed and his passion for photography is evident in his excitement and fun he has during a shoot. Through experience, education, and trial and error, he believes the attitude he sets forward on a shoot is contagious; and that no matter what kind of variables at play that go wrong on a wedding day (i.e. weather), his ability to make fun the priority enables his couples to relax and have fun themselves -- And that leads to better photos. He brings a wit and a sense of humor that is unique to him and genuinely has fun with his couples and the uniqueness they bring. At the end of a night the complement C.J. loves hearing the most is when the bride or groom or a member of the family come up to him and say, "Great job! We had fun; you made it fun. Thank you!"

When he's not shooting a wedding he's probably hanging out with his daughter, hiking, snowboarding, or road tripping to capture beautiful places with his camera.
